What is Epithalon?

In short: Epithalon (Epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide studied in cell cultures for telomerase activity. Its human evidence is the weakest covered here (older, single-group Russian work; no large controlled trial). Sold in vials and nasal bottles for research use only, it is not FDA-approved. It was considered for compounding-list inclusion at the FDA advisory committee's July 2026 meeting; committee recommendations are non-binding advice to the FDA.

Epithalon - also spelled Epitalon, which is why search results for it are a mess - is a synthetic tetrapeptide studied in telomere and circadian-rhythm research. It is also, of the compounds covered on this site, the one where the gap between marketing language and published human evidence is widest. Both facts belong on the same page.

The basics

What the evidence actually shows

This is the weakest human evidence base of any compound we cover, and independent evidence reviewers say so directly: the telomerase findings are from cell cultures, the human literature consists of older, single-group Russian work, and there is no convincing evidence of any human lifespan or health effect. Nothing has been tested in a large controlled human trial, and nothing has been reviewed by the FDA.

Epithalon remains a legitimate object of laboratory research - telomere biology is a serious field. What the evidence does not support is any seller presenting outcomes as expected, typical, or proven.

Regulatory status (October 2026)

Epithalon was considered for the 503A Bulks List at the FDA Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee's July 2026 session. Committee recommendations are non-binding advice to the FDA, and inclusion would require FDA rulemaking.

What Epithalon costs

Epithalon is one of the cheaper compounds in this market at trade level, yet retail listings carry the same wide vendor-to-vendor spread as everything else here. A cheap input plus a wide retail spread is exactly the combination where comparison shopping pays. Tracked ranges for all covered compounds are on the price-comparison page.
